Magnetic flow meters

Magnetic flow meters are a flow measurement instrument used to measure the flow of conductive fluids, such as water, process liquids, and chemical fluids. These instruments operate on the principle of magnetic induction.

A magnetic flow meter consists of an insulated flow tube inside which a magnetic field is generated. When the conductive fluid flows through the tube, an electric potential is induced in the fluid that is proportional to the fluid’s velocity. Sensors inside the flow tube detect the induced electric potential and use it to calculate the fluid’s flow rate.

The advantages of magnetic flow meters include their high precision, the ability to measure the flow of corrosive fluids, and their adaptability to different flow conditions. Furthermore, these instruments have no moving parts and are not affected by the viscosity or density of the fluid.
