Thermal massive flow meters

Thermal mass flow meters are a flow measurement instrument used to measure the flow of a fluid, particularly gases, based on temperature and thermal resistance measurements. These instruments measure the amount of heat required to maintain the temperature of the moving fluid constant and use this information to calculate the fluid’s flow rate.

Thermal mass flow meters are composed of one or more temperature sensors and, in some cases, a pressure sensor to calculate the fluid’s density. The fluid’s temperature is measured upstream and downstream of the flow sensor, and the temperature difference is used to calculate the fluid’s flow rate. Additionally, temperature sensors are often heated to ensure accurate flow measurement.

These instruments are known for their ability to measure the flow of low-density and low-pressure gases and are often used in applications such as measuring the flow of compressed air, exhaust gases, process gases, and combustible gases. Furthermore, thermal mass flow meters have no moving parts, making them reliable and wear resistant.
