Thermocouples
Thermocouples are temperature measurement devices used to detect and monitor temperature variations in a system.
They consist of two wires made of different metals welded together at a point called the hot junction. The opposite end of the wires, called the cold junction, is connected to a measurement circuit. When the temperature at the hot junction changes, a potential difference is generated between the two wires, which can be measured and used to determine the temperature. This phenomenon is known as the Seebeck effect.
Each type of thermocouple has a unique response curve, allowing it to be calibrated to accurately measure specific temperatures.
A wide variety of thermoelements, connection heads, immersion lengths, extension lengths, and connections to the cockpit are available.
